Monster's Ball (2001)

The Academy Awards and slap-up sex scenes don’t always go hand in hand, but the revealing roles in Monster’s Ball (2001) ensured leading lady Halle Berry walked home with the gold. Under the direction of Swiss filmmaker Marc Forster, this R rated American film features the skin on Billy Bob Thornton and Heath Ledger! If that’s not worth a look, we don’t know what is. After all, how often does a second-generation prison guard (Thornton) hook up with the gorgeous ex (Berry) of an executed felon (Sean Combs)? Maybe more often than we might think, but never with the jaw-dropping spectator appeal seen here. At the 1-hour and 39-minute mark, a bra-clad Halle gives great facial expressions when Billy Bob blows some tunes into her vertical harmonica. Nice organ playing! Of course, the coverage is more candid a few minutes earlier when Berry gets boned by BB on the couch during one of Hollywood’s most explicit sex scenes. Suffice it to say, it will make your billy bobble. In fact, their sex-fest is especially off the charts in the Blu-Ray version which combines the original scene with all of the Euro versions. If that’s not arousing enough, the movie treats us to views of a bottomless Mr. Ledger. Just five minutes in, the saucy Aussie drops his tighty whities and mounts up on the happy hooker his dad just got busy with. We’re not sure if he gets a family discount, but you’ll definitely get off when you see Heath’s handsome heinie!
