Papillon (2018)

Butterflies are free to fly in the real life inspired prison drama Papillon (2018), not to be confused with the original pic Papillon (1973) starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. Based on Henri Charrière’s autobiographies, both films center around a French safecracker who is wrongfully convicted and sentenced for a murder he didn’t commit. The major difference between the two screen adaptations is the recent movie features a lot of skin! Shot in Malta, Montenegro and Serbia, this skinternational flick focuses on Henri “Papillon” Charrière (Charlie Hunnam) whose persistence and survival skills eventually pay off amid extreme circumstances. While serving time at a dangerous penal colony on Devil’s Island, the handsome hunk plans his escape — even though no prisoner has ever done that from this place before. To practice, Henri escapes his shirt. As such, the topless hottie touts his toned upper body throughout the movie. Could his chest be any more chiseled? No need to answer since this is a rhetorical question. In one scene, Mr. Hunnam bares his back and ass while taking a group shower at the 41-minute mark. The same can be said of his dark-haired inmate Louis Dega (Rami Malek). Needless to say, they put the thrills into this thriller. The film also features Christopher Fairbank, Eve Hewson, Ian Beattie, Luka Peroš, Michael Socha, Tommy Flanagan, Yorick van Wageningen, and Roland Møller’s perfect pecs. To change things up, Petar Ćirica exposes his butt. Tell us again why anyone would want to leave this isle of barely-dressed men?
