Picco (2011)

Based on the same true crime story that Americans saw play out in the Edward Furlong flick Stoic (2009), the gritty, hard-edged German drama Picco (2010) follows Kevin (Constantin von Jascheroff), a juvenile offender who is sentenced to an overcrowded youth prison where he shares a cell with three other bad dudes—Marc (Frederick Lau), a brutish and arrogant kid who bullies anyone that gets in his way; Andy (Martin Kiefer), a conniving conman always looking to make his life easier; and Tommy (Joel Basman), a drug-addled dude trying to escape his miserable existence. Sounds like fun! While the other cellmates strike up a fragile friendship, Kevin is often left alone to fend for himself. Pretty quickly figuring out that when you're the odd man out in prison, odds are, things aren't going to go well for you, Kevin reluctantly starts to embrace life as one of the bullies despite being a good person. When one of his victims suffers in a way that shocks Kevin to his core (and had plenty of audience members at Cannes heading for the exits), "Picco" as he is called, has to come to grips with what life behind bars has turned him into. Since it’s a jailhouse flick, there’s plenty of skin, especially during shower time. Constantin von Jascheroff and Frederick Lau each show complete nudity while soaping up in the shower, while Joel Basman and Martin Kiefer each add an ample look at their behinds while getting clean. Okay, we get that the whole movie is supposed to be about how prison turns decent people into monsters, but after seeing those lonely, bored but hot bad boys is it weird that Mr. Man was dying to do a stint? We're not a sicko, we're just horny as hell from watching Picco!
