Sure, Guy Pearce is a tasty-looking hunk of man meat. But that doesn't excuse the action of the frontiersmen in the cult classic horror film Ravenous (1999)! A wild and fun period piece horror flick, Guy Pearce stars as Captain John Boyd, a onetime hero of the Mexican-American war who is stuck running a post in the middle of nowhere when the higher-ups in the US Military find out his big victory came after he got scared and pretended to be dead while the rest of the soldiers fought to their deaths. One day, a skinny and starving fella calling himself Colqhoun (Robert Carlyle) stumbles into camp telling a story about how a man named Ives started murdering and eating everyone after their wagon train got trapped in the snow. The lot of soldiers go to investigate the cave where the killer is hiding, only for Colqhoun to secretly be Ives, and start killing and eating them all in his booby-trapped cavern. Boyd gets away on a broken leg, only to find Ives (Robert Carlyle) now in charge of the fort. Rather forthcoming about the whole thing, he explains that once you start eating humans, you get really strong and can't stop, so he plans on using the outpost as a base for all his people eating. That is, unless the coward John Boyd can stop him. The equally edible David Arquette, Jeremy Davies, Neal McDonough, and Stephen Spinella all star as Pearce's fellow soldiers, but it's Scottish actor Robert Carlyle who shows us his tasty shanks getting out of bed 16 minutes in. The Once Upon a Time star stumbles into camp freezing cold, then hops in the bath to begin spinning his cannibal tale. Speaking of tails, when he hops out of the bath we get a great shot of his rump! That's some good meat! Mr. Man eats ass, but not the way that cannibal is thinking! Still, with that one scene alone Ravenous will make your mouth water.
