Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story (2004)

Jamie Foxx stars in the titular role of the streetwise biopic Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story (2004). Williams co-founded the now infamous LA street gang the Crips in the early 70s before landing himself on death row in San Quentin in 1987. While there, the former gang banger cleaned up his ways, and went on to become an advocate for peace and tolerance while also writing several children's books that warn against the appeal of gang violence. Lynn Whitfield also co-stars as Barbara Becnel, a journalist who tells Williams’ story. Yes there is much to be learned here about this sad, but uplifting tale of loss and redemption, but our main take away is that Jamie’s foxxy booty is pretty freakin’ fine!
