Shakespeare in Love (1998)

Shakespeare in Love (1998) finds the titular young Shakespeare with a case of writer’s block. With the success of a theater riding on his newest script “Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate’s Daughter,” William (Joseph Fiennes) is in desperate need of inspiration. That spark of creativity comes in the form of Viola De Lesseps (Gwyneth Paltrow), a theatergoer with an affinity for Shakespeare. Viola’s interest in both Bill and his work leads her to dress as a man and audition for the role of Romeo (to each her own), eventually winning the part. Since Gwyneth Paltrow looks nothing like a man, it doesn’t take too long for Shakespeare to realize that she is indeed a woman, and since she’s a quirky pretty one, the two of them end up bumping bush and falling in love. Does their love inspire a different play - one that includes a certain balcony? We'll never tell. The movie was both a critical and commercial success, and won seven Academy Awards.

While we can’t help but be jealous of Viola for her sexy time with the very fine Joseph Fiennes, we are grateful that she charmed the clothes right off of him, giving us some great looks at his gorgeous abs and chest. Of course the movie also features sex machine Simon Callow, who bares his buns with getting it on with a girl.  We doth not protest too much!
