Smallville (2001-2004)

Everybody knows The Man of Steel from his time as a newspaper journalist living in Metropolis and lusting after Lois Lane (Erica Durance), but Smallville tells the story of Superman before all that, back when he was growing up a not so typical Kansas boy. A TV mainstay that started out on The WB back in 2001, way before the superhero genre took the world by storm, the show survived the switch to The CW as it lasted ten seasons on TV. If you're not a comic nerd, you might not know that Clark Kent (Tom Welling) grew up in a small town called Smallville Kansas alongside his bald buddy Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) and his on again off again girlfriend Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk). So much alliteration! At first, viewers watched as Clark dealt with high school drama and Lex's recurring suspicion that the way Clark rescued him from a car crash was a bit more super than natural, but by the time later seasons rolled around Clark was fighting with classic DC villains like General Zod (Callum Blue), Brainiac (James Marsters), and Doomsday (Dario Delacio). Tall dark and handsome hotties have always been Mr. Man's Kryptonite, so he was doomed to melt whenever Tom Welling hit the screen. Our pants were off faster than a speeding bullet when we got a look at his superbuns in two different scenes over the course of the show. In the first one, he lands naked in a cornfield, and we get a quick look at Tom's tush before a woman discovers him. In the second, he's checking out a statue while naked and some old lady gasps at seeing his ass! This Kal-El was fine as Hell! Take it off, boy from Krypton! But it's not just Tom. Before he was on This is Us and The Tracker, Justin Hartley played The Green Arrow on this one, too. Smallville was all about truth, justice, and sexy dudes teasing the American gay!
