Split (2016)

Split is a 2016 indie drama that uses unconventional, atmospheric filming techniques to bring to life the artistic and deeply emotional journey of one woman. Ianna (Amy Ferguson) decides to free herself from an abusive relationship by taking her sexual identity into her own hands. This leads to a complex romance with a mask maker who might just prove to be too volatile for Ianna. Meanwhile, the actress mirrors her own struggles with abuse and misogyny in the theater during a dreamlike production, and in the end, she comes out a more fully-realized woman.
