Review

Three years after the first flick, everyone's favorite Beantown based thunder buddies were back in Ted 2 (2015). Seth MacFarlane's first flick was all about John (Mark Wahlberg) and his somehow sentient teddy bear Ted (Seth MacFarlane) trying to live their lives while the obsessed fan Donny (Giovanni Ribisi) tried to kidnap Ted for his own son. This one explores the legal ramifications of Ted's life, when he and his girlfriend Tami-Lyn (Jessica Barth) try to adopt a baby but find that legally Ted isn't a person. John and Ted hire a lawyer (Amanda Seyfried) to try and make the case that he's as much of a person as anyone else, and all sorts of hijinks ensue. Donny ends up coming back and causing more trouble, but this one is all about whether Ted the talking teddy bear should count as a person or not. It's a bit of an odd setup for a comedy that features gross out gags like John and his stuffed animal sneaking into Tom Brady's house to try and swipe some of his spunk, but if you're into Family Guy, American Dad, and the rest of the MacFarlane lineup, you'll enjoy this one. If Ted isn’t the only warm fuzzy teddy bear type you like, check out the big soft buns of Craig Ricci Shaynak as he orders a meal at a diner counter. As his pants slide down revealing some serious plumber’s crack, Mark Wahlberg is inspired to see if he can toss a piece of Cookie Crisp cereal into the coin slot. You’ll go coo-coo for that Cookie Crisp. When Craig spins around, we see that he’s blind and the whole ordeal is incredibly embarrassing. While we don’t get a taste of Mark’s Wahlburger buns, if Shaynak’s on the menu at the diner, then we’re doing just fine! One way or another, Ted 2 is going to bring out your bear fetish!
