Legendary low budget filmmaker Roger Corman’s psychedelic counterculture snapshot The Trip (1967) is a surprisingly underseen movie considering all of the major talent involved. Alternatively titled A Lovely Sort of Death (a very intentional play on LSD), and written by none other than Jack Nicholson, it tells the story of a Hollywood television director who experiences a major personal crisis and has to try to get his life back on track. A road trip is taken, as are several acid trips, and we get to see stars (and all around counterculture film icons) Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper in various states of undress at a couple of points throughout the film—first, Fonda’s tight ass when he’s helped out of a pool after having a sort of panicked freak out while skinny dipping, then Hopper’s hot upper body while he’s hanging out shirtless, and finally Fonda’s fine upper body as well when he gets out bed and gets dressed.
