Personal Best (1982)

Robert Towne’s 1982 sports movie Personal Best will most likely be remembered for two things: Its gorgeous slow motion cinematography, and its steamy lesbian relationship between the two main characters, Chris (Mariel Hemingway) and Tory (Patrice Donnelly). The Olympic track-and-field hopefuls learn a little about love and healthy competition from each other, but the latter threatens to destroy their relationship.
