Boardwalk Empire (2010-2013)

Created by The Sopranos writer Terence Winter and executive produced by Martin Scorsese, HBO's original series Boardwalk Empire starred Steve Buscemi as Nucky Thompson, the corrupt politician turned bootlegging kingpin who oversaw the rise of Atlantic City. Loosely based on the real life rise of Enoch L. Johnson, for five seasons from 2010 to 2014 HBO viewers watched as Nucky used his gig as Treasurer of Atlantic County and the coverage that having a brother who's the County Sheriff (Shea Whigham) gives him to amass an illicit fortune back when alcohol was illegal. But our bootlegging politician pisses off his protege Jimmy (Michael Pitt), who decides to team with an up-and-coming bootlegger out of Chicago named Al Capone (Stephen Graham) to try and forge their own criminal empire. When that leads to the pair pissing off Arnold Rothstein (Micheal Stuhlbarg), the two team up with Nucky once again and enlist the help of a sharpshooting War Veteran with half his face blown off (Jack Huston) to help get really violent. With all sorts of gangsters coming for Nucky's bootlegging crown, it's a constant battle for control of Atlantic City. We prohibit you from telling us there was a hotter period piece on the boob tube while Boardwalk Empire was dazzling viewers with its prohibition plotlines. Like all HBO shows, Boardwalk Empire is full of flesh, so whether you're into smarmy gangster types like autoerotic asphyxiation enthusiast Bobby Carnivale, who swings his Italian sausage all over the place in a dramatic nude assassination scene, or black beefcake Eric LaRey Harvey, who bares his muscular butt during a SKINterracial encounter, you're sure to find something to wet your whistle. AS much as we wanted to get lucky with Nucky, Buscemi doesn't show much. But, everyone's favorite tall glass of ass, Michael Shannon shows his butt while doing it with some dame, while Charlie Cox's display of coital skills come with a quick look at his can, too! Throw in some shirtless stuff from Michael Kenneth Williams and a post-sex smoke from Ron Livingston, and you'll never be bored, just stiff as a board, watching Boardwalk Empire!
