Critics have been raving about Emerald Fennell's latest film Saltburn as it makes its festival rounds - specifically about Barry Keoghan's stellar performance. Something, however, that they are all failing to mention is that he is also giving the nudity-filled performance of a lifetime. I had the good fortune of seeing the film in person yesterday at the Savannah Film Festival and let me be the first writer to note that Barry Keoghan is giving a penis-forward performance for the ages.
First of all, it is worth iterating that this is only Emerald Fennell's second film - EVER. The actor-writer-director wowed the public with her debut film Promising Young Woman in which she won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay and became only the 7th woman ever nominated for Best Director. That's a lot of acclaim for one movie. She had several of us wondering: can she pull off another one? Well, folks. She did. It's fantastic and it's very sexy and very gay. That is thanks to Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, and Archie Madekwe.
If you are sensitive to anything that could potentially be a spoiler, skip what I am about to write. I am trying to avoid major plot points - and there is so much to this twisted film that I do not feel that I am spoiling much of it - but if you don't want to know who hooks up with who or who gets naked, then do not read ahead. Oh, you do want to know who gets naked? Well, read on.
Archie Madekwe is a newcomer and lies nude in a field with his cousin Jacob Elordi. I am excited for you all to meet this guy who also has a gay sex scene with one of the stars. Ooolala!
Jacob is the dreamboat of the movie. He is super hot and he knows it - and so does Barry. Barry lusts over Jacob which provides super sexy views of Jacob's body from Barry's horny gaze. We see close-ups of Jacob sitting in a bathtub with beads of sweat dotting his moist neck. We see him lying shirtless in his boxer shorts in a field as he gazes seductively up at the camera. We see his firm jawline. We see his buns. And we see him masturbate...so does Barry.
But what about Barry? There is some nudity and gay stuff that would be somewhat of a spoiler, but what I can tell you is that this movie is going to give us: a very long Barry's booty humping scene, Barry dancing totally naked with his big dick out for a minute straight, and a scene that I am officially calling "The New Peach Scene" in which Barry LICKS A BATHTUB THAT JACOB WAS JUST MASTURBATING IN. YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY AND, YES, I AM SCREAMING. THE ENTIRE THEATER WAS SCREAMING!!!
It is iconic and I cannot wait for this film to get a full release so you can all see it. This film blew me away and I think it'll do the same for you. Then you'll want to blow Barry!
