People tend to whitewash Hollywood history, thinking it was as cheesy and wholesome as the movies made it. We at Mr. Man know how terribly untrue that is! Old Hollywood stars had libidos and salacious sex lives like the stars of today and that all gets explored in the new documentary Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood about one former Marine who became a "serviceman" for Hollywood stars.
One could call him a pimp or a sex worker, but we prefer to call him a hero. Scotty Bowers is now 95-years-old and he's telling all in his book-turned-documentary about his life. This bisexual hero helped everyone no matter the gender or sexuality. He would especially help gay stars like Tyrone Power, Roddy McDowall, Ruck Hudson, Vincent Price, Spencer Tracy, Charles Laughton, Walter Pidgeon, George Cukor, Cary Grant and more. That's an impressive who's who of who wants a screw from Scotty. He'd sleep with his male stars (or find a companion) for $20 a pop and he'd find suitable women for his female stars which ranged from Katherine Hepburn to Bette Davis to Vivian Leigh. He even claims he serviced the Duke and Duchess of Windsor!
A biopic is also in the works and we want that to happen so bad. Seeing the stars of today play yesteryear's darlings getting handjobs in trailers? What's not to love?
