We've known for a few months that the fifth episode of the belovedIndiana Jonesseries would, in fact, be on its way, but we weren't sure who would play the titular character. Speculation has been rampant, in fact, since no one even has any idea when the movie is slated to be released, but heywho cares?Indiana Jones is coming back.
Luckily, one rumor has been put to rest: Harrison Ford will continue to play Indy, even if he doesn't end up as the main character of the next film. The producer, Frank Marshall, doesn't want to create a jarring experience for Dr. Jones fans, and is sticking to his guns: They'll find a way to keep good ol' Harry as the one and only Indiana no matter where the next installment may wander.
Besides, he can continue playing Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, can't he? Just look at this face. Who could replace this face?
An article by Esquire hypothesizes that they'll eventually have to transition the seriesperhaps to focus on one of Indy's students or something along those linesbut not outright call another, younger actor (Chris Pratt?) by the iconic name. Harrison Ford may be 73, but the man is still the ultimate badass. This guy has earned the right to be the one and only Indiana Jones.
