I hate to tell you all this but Rege-Jean Page will not be back for the second season of Bridgerton. You have likely already heard the news, but I needed a few days to process it so I am finally ready to discuss this issue with you all. Let me take a quick breath. Okay, I'm ready. SHONDA, WHY?!?! WHY????? WHAT IS EVEN THE POINT OF WATCHING THIS SHOW ANYMORE???? I MEAN, LOOK AT REGE-JEAN'S ASS, SHONDA. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE WERE WATCHING:
Okay, sorry to scream at everyone, but this was really emotional. Now, I understand that the reason is that his character's story arch was basically done. But, like, could it just...not be done? Could we have him need to do some fun hijinks in the flesh? Makeout with other people? Have sex with a hot dude? Like, is that so much to ask, show creator Chris Van Dusen? Netflix, please fix this. Give him a spinoff or something.
I've heard rumors that Rege-Jean Page is being considered for the next Black Panther which I would not be mad about, but I do get worried about actors who start to do superhero movies. Those movies tend to be so family-friendly that the actors do less nudity going forward which is a bummer to me because we only just got started ogling Rege-Jean. I hope I'm wrong and that he does both because he deserves the world.
