There's something about a man with a beard that we can't resist. They look stronger, sexier and more cock-sure than fresh-faced counterparts. Even when we try and go for a freshly shaven twink, a brawny man could whisk us away at a moment's notice. It turns out that this is science!
Oh, by the way, we're talking about hair - not female beards! Okay, moving on.
A new study published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology has found that bearded men are more attractive to straight women. Over 8,500 women were asked to rate men on attractiveness as a long-term partner.How did they rate the man? Men were rated from 1-4 like so:
1. Heavy stubble
2. Full beards
3. Light stubble
4. Clean-shaven
The researchers conclude that beards might be more attractive because they subtly indicate a man's success. We don't totally understand the thinking behind that other than the success of a man is determined by his facial hair because he has more hair than other men. Since it's on his face? Hell, we don't know. We're not scientists, but we are experts in sexiness and men with beards are really fucking hot.
Thank god that November is a monthwhere a lot of men choose to throw away their razors, ditching sheers and choosing to go aunatural on their chin. Whether or not a man has hair on top of his head doesn't matter. If he has a beard, we're drooling!
