SPOILER ALERT if you haven’t seen the latest episode of the Emmy-winning Apple TV series Ted Lasso - but one of our beloved Greyhounds has finally been confirmed to be gay, though the character appears to still be in the closet on the show. While audiences have long been suspicious that Welsh left winger Colin Hughes, played by Billy Harris, might be homosexual (remember when he mentioned Grindr?), the third episode of the third season has made it official.

Billy Harris Nude on Ted Lasso

The episode starts off in the best possible way: giving us a nice look at Billy’s bare British bum when he wakes, gets out of bed, and starts to dress to the melodic sounds of “Out Of My Head” by Fastball. We then see him go downstairs and share a tender smooch with a man named Michael (Sam Liu), who he later introduces to his teammates as his friend and “wingman” when it comes to chatting up women. Michael goes right along with it so it's safe to assume they've had to pretend for other people before.

So the team, and presumably everyone else, is unaware Colin is actually gay despite him joining in on locker room jokes about having sex with their new superstar teammate Zava (Maximilian Osinski). But it looks like that all may change this season now that former Independent journalist Trent Crimm (James Lance) secretly spotted Colin and Michael playing some hardcore tonsil hockey outside. Will Trent out Colin in his tell-all book about Richmond? Trent’s a good guy so that’s a little out of character, but he does love a good story. At one point the episode seemed to be highlighting all the different romantic entanglements, and it’s nice to see a queer one enter the mix, plus it sets up that the third season might be taking on the issue of homophobia within professional sports.

For now, we love seeing this "strong and capable man" get a win by nabbing a handsome gent AND delivering some much needed nudity.
