Vikings

Yes, Michael Hirst, the creator of Vikings, recently threw shade atGame of Thrones(and George R.R. Martin?) for the use of what he calls gratuitous nudity to attract viewers. And sure, to be fair, GoT has long held a reputation for rampant naked folks, which is one of the reasons we love it so dearly. The line between gratuitous and plot-centric nudity is not exactly well-defined, though, and it's hard to seriously consider the comparison when one show is on the History Channel and one is on HBO.

Those are very different channels, folks.

Tudor on Game of Thrones

Life is a Game of Bones, and we all win

The argument isn't a totally random one. Vikings, now in season four, left off season three with a naked whipping scene between Odo and a naked maiden. It's not the only full-frontal scene we've been treated too thoughwe've also been #blessed by more than one eyeful of balls.

Balls. Lots of balls.

Naked people!

GoT, on the other hand, is pretty rife with nudity, which is one of the main reasons we love HBO; they don't discriminate between male and female nudity.

Naked people!

Naked people!

In reality, the most important thing to note is this: Both shows are pretty badass, both plot- and penis-wise. We're into it, and we're incredibly excited that spring is coming.
