Àlex was born on March 12, 1964, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. In his early career, he trained at an amateur theater in Barcelona called Alella where he appeared in a number of productions. His work there led to him landing a part in the movie Manilla (1991). Since the mid-1980s, Alex has appeared on stage in a variety of different plays.
