Actor Andre Braugher has a distinct voice and demeanor that he has used to portray authority figures for decades, but that does not mean that this actor doesn't have a heart of gold. He does! He hails from Chicago and he has been acting on camera ever since 1989 when he starred as Detective Winston Blake in the two Kojak TV movies. He has pretty much always had this strong demeanor that lent well to cops, detectives, and captains. You will see what we mean in just a second. He has played Satch DeLeon in Frequency (2000), Tim in All the Rage (1999), Reggie Kane in Duets (2000), Brent Norton in The Mist (2007), Frank Pembleton in Homicide: Life on the Streets (1993), Bayard Ellis in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Captain Bradford in Poseidon (2006), Nick Atwater in Thief (2006), and even voiced Woodchuck Coochuck-Berkowitz in the popular animated series Bojack Horseman. He is best known for playing Captain Raymond Holt on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013) in which he portrays a stoic, powerful police captain of a rather inept crew. He also plays a gay man! He smooches his TV husband played by Marc Evans Jackson during a romantic downpour. He tells his lover boy that he would do anything to keep him, any compromise, and the two seal that moment with a passionate kiss. Oh, my heart! What an adorable scene! If only we could watch these two bang out these romantic feelings in the bedroom later on.
