Black (2015)

Taking cues from William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Black (2015) takes a look at forbidden romance in Brussels, Belgium. The city is known for its brutal gang violence, and no one, including 15-year-old gang member Mavela (Martha Canga Antonio), is immune to the bloodshed. When Mavela, who is part of a black gang, falls in love with Marwan (Aboubakr Bensaihi), a Moroccan gang member, the two must decide if pursuing a romance is worth the risk of death. Does Black follow the plot of Romeo and Juliet to a T, or are the young lovers spared?
