Blue Dream (2013)

Mr. Man has blue balls for Blue Movie (1971), Blue Velvet (1986), Blue Steel (1990), Blue Valentine (2010), and Blue Dream (2013). In the latter pic, the debauchery of L.A. takes center stage as film critic Robert Harmon (James Duval) comes to terms with the fact that newspapers are becoming a thing of the past. Set in the late 1990s, the drama shows the shift from print media to the Internet. As such, the newspaper Robert works for needs to make changes in order to stay afloat. Disillusioned and despondent, Robert allows himself to be swept up in the world of endless partying and plentiful drugs while dealing with Gena Townsend (Dominique Swain), Amanda (Pollyanna McIntosh), Tara (Kayden Kross), Roper Karlsson (Noah Hathaway), Lasse Karlsson (Walter Koenig), Ted Sellers (Richard Riehle), Rachel Purviance (Olivia Barash), and Detective Addy (Stanley B. Herman). As far as a plot, that’s all we’ve got but if you’re looking for skin, Mr. Duval delivers! In one scene, his character recalls having wild sex with a blonde and then a brunette. Needless to say, this flashback is a fleshback! In another scene, the nude dude shows off his pecs, pubes and peen as he lays down with a naked lady during a post-orgy pan. The shot also includes a bunch of bare background actors who put the X into eXtas! Ironically, Blue Dream (also known as Le critique) wasn’t seen by my critics. But the movie earns two thumbs and another part of the anatomy up from us!
