Oscar winner Adrien Brody brings his talents to the small screen with the series Chapelwaite, which debuted on Epix in the late summer of 2021. The show, created by Peter Filardi and Jason Filardi (The Craft, Flatliners) and based on a short story by master of horror Stephen King, is set in the mid-19th century where sea captain Charles Boone (Brody) decides to leave his life at sea behind and take ownership of his wealthy cousin's Maine estate which was left to him and his three children following the shocking death of his wife. The locals of Preacher's Corner, Maine prove to be less than hospitable, however, as Charles soon discovers that his family has been at the center of strange happenings through the ages which have left many of the townsfolk convinced that the family has cursed their town. Charles hires a governess named Rebecca Morgan (Emily Hampshire) to take care of his children and, finding her to be a sympathetic person to his plight and that of his family, soon enlists her help in digging into the secretive and sordid family history that has led them to this rather ominous place. The deeper he digs, however, the more he discovers why some secrets were never meant to be discovered. Carrying a TV-MA rating had us hopeful for some nudity in this series, but it looks to be more focused on horror rather than sex. Adrien Brody does spend several scenes sans shirt in the first three episodes, showing off his toned physique, but if you're hoping to scare up something in your pants, best look elsewhere!
