When it comes to Chris Cooper, there are no small parts. That’s because he has a knack for making the most of cameos (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Ring) and supporting roles from John Grisham’s A Time to Kill (1996) to Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women (2019). This is true even when appearing for a fraction of the screen time as actors in their Oscar-winning turns, such as Kevin Spacey in the Best Picture winner American Beauty (1999); George Clooney in the political thriller Syriana (2005); and Philip Seymour Hoffman in the biopic Capote (2005). Chris has also held his own alongside cinema legend Robert De Niro in Guilty by Suspicion (1991), This Boy’s Life (1993) and Great Expectations (1998). The same can be said of his performance opposite movie icon Meryl Streep in Adaptation (2002). In fact, the film showcases Cooper’s acting chops as well as his back, ass, and shaft! The revealing role resulted in Golden Globe and Academy Award wins. When he’s not appearing in John Sayles films (Amigo, City of Hope, Lone Star, Matewan, Silver City), Chris can be seen in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019) and heard in Cars 3 (2017).
