What does Canadian actor Ciarán MacGillivray have in common with American soccer player Ciaran O’Brien, English footballer Ciaran Donnelly, Welsh performer Ciaran Joyce, British keyboardist Ciaran Jeremiah, and esteemed thespian Ciarán Hinds, poet Ciarán Carson and cube champ Ciarán Beahan of the Emerald Isle? They’re all named Ciarán, which means little dark one. We’re not sure how little English actor Ciarán Griffiths is but we must include him on this list. The Manchester native kicked off his career when he starred on the kids’ show Children’s Ward (1996) at the age of 13. Once he grew up and out, the boob tube babe played Gary Best on the long-running police procedural The Bill (2002-2005). Hey Ciarán, you get the bill, and we’ll cover the tip! Over on the big screen, Mr. Griffiths made his movie debut opposite The Full Monty (1997) star Robert Carlyle in There’s Only One Jimmy Grimble (2000). Alas, Ciarán failed to flash his full monty. But in the August 2011 issue of Attitude magazine, the handsome hunk posed in nothing but a pair of red boxers. We like that attitude!
