Don Jon (2013)

Don Jon (2013) is what we commonly call an ego-trip movie, written, directed and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He’s most famous as one of the aliens in the popular sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun, but this is his ticket to mind-blower. He plays a guy from New Jersey who is dedicated to his family and friends, but also to his love of pornography, which he watches unabashedly, and which gives him unrealistic expectations. How will that mesh with the character of Scarlett Johansson, who plays his potential soul mate? Well, you’ll have to watch the movie to find out, but if you want to know if the hunky former kid star delivers an adult performance, we can tell you that he’s shirtless watching porn. That’s a good start, and something we can all relate to.
