It’s not odd to want Odder native Esben Smed Jensen — especially since the dashing Dane is beautiful and talented! After kicking off his acting career in Kick’n Rush (2003), the blond bombshell burst onto Denmark’s entertainment scene. Although Esben showed off his dramatic side in the films Aching Hearts (2009) and Sorrow and Joy (2013), he received more praise for exposing his… sense of humor in the sports comedy Sommeren ’92 (2015). For his portrayal of Danish footballer John “Faxe” Jensen, the athletic actor scored a Bodil Award nomination. Greater fame came when Esben won a Robert Award for playing ISIS hostage Daniel Rye in the biopic Daniel (2019). The acclaimed babe also received a Robert Award nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Television Role category for his thrilling turn in the small screen crime thriller Follow the Money (2016-2019). Since then, Smed proved his universal appeal by appearing alongside Zoe Kazan, Tahar Rahim, and Andrea Riseborough in Lone Scherfig’s international flick The Kindness of Strangers (2019). But not before the sexy thespian won over critics and fans with his revealing role in A Fortunate Man (2018). Set in the late 19th century, the romantic film features Katrine Greis-Rosenthal, Benjamin Kitter, Julie Christiansen, Tommy Kenter, and Esben’s fine flesh! During a seductive scene, the suave Scandinavian literally loses his top. The skintastic act lets us peek at his pretty chest. Unfortunately, Esben failed to display his piece in the period piece. Now, that’s what we call a costume drama!
