Gemma Bovery (2014)

How many of us would have actually read Madame Bovary in high school English class if we had been able to see naked people get it on while we were doing it? That is, more or less, the appeal of Gemma Bovary (2014), a modern day story following the premise of Gustave Flaubert's famous novel almost exactly. The main character of the film is a Parisian baker named Martin, who is thoroughly obsessed with classic literature. When an English couple, Gemma and Charles Bovary move in next door, he's instantly intrigued. When he finds out that Gemma's story more closely resembles that of Emma Bovary from his favorite novel than he thought, he does whatever he can to help save her from the same fate as the heroine from the book. 

This film brings new meaning to the phrase "life imitates art," and Gemma almost immediately embarks on an affiar that spices up both her boring country life and this otherwise very clothed film. Played by Niels Schneider, her new lover is quick to rip off his clothes whever he needs to, showing off his perfectly toned ass and shirtless body. This shaggy-haired guy may be the demise of Gemma's life as we know it, but at least it's a satisfying ending.
