Gentleman Jack (2019-2022)

Set in the early 19th century world of cinched corsets and a distinct distaste for anything that's not heteronormative is Gentleman Jack, an HBO and BBC co-production based on a true story so scandalous, it had to be written in code at the time so as not to expose the more salacious elements! Suranne Jones stars as Anne Lister, a socialite who inherits her beloved uncle's estate in Halifax, West Yorkshire, upon his passing and gets herself involved in the local political scene there. She also begins a clandestine affair with Ann Walker (Sophie Rundle) with their relationship escalating slowly throughout the first season, with Anne keeping copious diaries of her experiences but coding them in such a way as that they wouldn't be decoded until long after her death. It took until more than halfway through the show's second season to get some skin in the game but Leo Flanagan exposes his tight ass for the first time on screen in the second season's seventh episode while banging a woman up against a wall! A Gentleman would've at least taken her inside first.
