Professional skateboarder turned actor Jason Lee hit the big time when he landed the leading role in Kevin Smith's sophomore feature Mallrats (1995), proving that he had a gift for delivering snarky, expletive-laden dialogue in a rapid fire manner. Lee's professional relationship with Smith was quite fruitful, with the actor appearing in other Smith flicks like Chasing Amy (1997) and Dogma (1999), but by the turn of the new millennium, Lee was eager to make a name for himself away from Smith's brand of slacker comedy. His image rehabilitation began in earnest with a role in the Oscar-winning Cameron Crowe flick Almost Famous (2000) where he played one of the founding members of the fictional band Stillwater! This is also where you can catch Lee's sexiest role to date as he nicely bulges out in some tight undies while playing his guitar and horsing around with Anna Paquin! The following year, Lee co-starred alongside Tom Cruise in another Crowe-directed film, Vanilla Sky (2001) before beginning a rom-com leading man career with his back to back starring roles in Stealing Harvard (2002) and A Guy Thing (2003). Lee then embarked upon two separate career ventures that made him a household name, the first in the world of network television when he fronted the series My Name is Earl on NBC for four years in the mid-aughts. He also became well-known among the children of the world when he played the role of beleaguered songwriter/rodent foster father Dave Seville in four Alvin and the Chipmunks films starting in 2007.
