Biography

He's got a body we'd like to manhandle, but Josh Randall just can't catch a break! Every time he lands a recurring role, the show ends up being cancelled just as it's finding its footing. Not that it's his fault. If his abs don't draw in viewers, nothing will! Originally from Pacific Grove, California, Josh's mom was a newspaper columnist, so it only made sense that he studied English at San Francisco State. But Josh didn't chase leads and hunt down scoops, instead he began his acting career in his mid-20's by landing roles in low budget yarns such as The Last Time I Committed Suicide (1997) and The Party Crashers. (1998). He crashed the TV scene when he got his first big break in 2000; landing the role of Dr. Mike Burton in the hit NBC series ED for the show's entire four year run. A quirky sitcom about a bowling alley owner and his weirdo friends, Ed was a classic "gone too soon" sitcom that fans have been clamoring to come back for years. With Josh on the screen, if it was "sex Ed," we bet it wouldn't have been cancelled! Josh bounced back with roles in more successful shows like Cold Case, CSI: Miami, got accused of being an "other", then murdered by one of them on Lost and dated Elliott on Scrubs. Someone recognized the talent, and soon enough Josh found himself playing former UN Peacekeeper Charles Charles on Pushing Daisies. That quirky ABC comedy about a man who can bring dead things back to life is, believe it or not, the ultimate "gone too soon" sitcom. But just like before, Josh bounced back by playing Professor Simon Segal on Greek, then one and doned it on stuff like Castle, Criminal Minds, and killing it as the JAG officer that had us reaching for our jag rag, James Elliott on Scandal. But our favorite scandalous role came as Detective Tommy Olsen on the crime drama Quarry, because that one was where we get to see a glimpse of Josh's sweet seat meat as he gets it on with his female co-star. That thing looks like it's carved from granite! He went shirtless as Tom Petrovich in ABC's missing kid drama Ten Days in the Valley, then hit the big screen as the Valet Chester in Fantasy Island (2020). His run as the murderous lab experiment Mad Pierrot on Cowboy Bebop didn't last long, since Netflix gave it the axe after one season, though he was also Marty's best buddy Bruce Liddell on Netflix's way more successful show Ozark. Most recently he's been Maya's replacement, Captain Sean Beckett on ABC"s firefighter drama Station 19 and has most recently been playing counterterrorism expert Jim Navarro on Westworld. Here's hoping Josh Randall finally finds a decade long show to stick to, and shows us all of himself! Whenever he's on screen, Josh Randall has us all kinds of randy!
