Locked Down (2021)

Everyone is the world is going to remember 2020 as the year of Covid-19 and the worldwide effects it has had on every person, industry, business, and each of our collective mental healths.  For this star-studded flick, it is entirely written, financed, and filmed after the lock down went into effect in England, so it's definitely a unique take on the "new normal" of 2020.  In it we follow a couple, who even before being stuck together 24 hours, was having some relationship issues.  For Linda (Anne Hathaway), she realizes she hates herself just as much as her fella Paxton (Chiwetel Ejiofor), mostly because her entire career is now laying people off from her job at Harrod's luxury department store.  For Paxton, he just thinks of himself as a loser because he was laid off and there is nothing to look forward to.  As they spiral into shouting matches, moody silences, and then back into full blown arguments, Linda comes up with a bright idea when her bosses come to her with a task to pack up the jewelry department before the store shutters for good, that they are going to plan a $3 million dollar heist!  So as they comb through the goods that are all going to go into long-term storage, they decide that they can nab the most expensive diamond in the store before any even notices!  As they plan and concoct the plan, they begin to iron out the problems in their relationship, so maybe being Locked Down isn't all that bad when you both have a hobby, albeit a criminal hobby!  Lucky for us too, we get the see the charming Chiwetel Ejiofor in his boxer briefs a couple of times.
