Erotic filmmaker Just Jaeckin followed up his notorious directorial debut Emmanuelle (1974) with Madame Claude (1977), a film about a real life madame who ran a brothel in Paris in the 1960s. Françoise Fabian stars as the titular madame, an upper class woman with a ton of connections to the rich and powerful who decides to put all of those connections to good use by running a brothel that will cater to such clientele. With an ever growing stable of call girls, Madame Claude starts sending her girls all over the world to be with the rich and powerful men of many different countries, cultivating a network of clients that includes some of the most well known men in power in the era. Of course, her undoing comes in her arrogance in thinking that these same men will do anything to risk exposure of their dirty little secrets. When a dubious photographer named David Evans (Murray Head) is essentially blackmailed into capturing photographic evidence of these men's dalliances, her entire empire is at risk of collapse, all because even more dubious people then her beat her at her own game! Like the vast majority of erotic thrillers of the time, there's an inordinate amount of nude women on display in the film and relatively little male nudity to be found. Thankfully Pascal Greggory is on hand to roll around on the beach—literally—with one of the call girls, showing off his tight and tanned tush in the process! Pascal's definitely got the formula to helping you reach the throes of ecstasy!
