Review

Sir John Gielgud is Prospero, an exiled magician out for revenge. He has books and he reads them while naked people dance.  There’s the overview of Propero’s Books (1991).  Prospero’s plans for revenge hit a snag when his daughter falls in love with the son (Michael Clark) of his nemesis.  The story is told by Prospero who reads his books to us.

There might not be a lot of magic here, but there is definitely a lot of flesh.  Clark spends a lot of the film dancing sans pants.  His tight, dancer’s body is on full display both front and back with his bangers and mash keeping perfect time.  Mark Rylance uses his mandangler as a flotation device and it bobs beneath the water’s surface in a clear shot. Prospero may have books, but this movie has bods!
