Biography

The deep voiced hunk Richard Ward had a successful career in Hollywood, known for his amazing performances in the films Black Like Me (1964), The Learning Tree (1969), Across 110th Street (1972), and For Pete’s Sake (1974). But sometimes a film comes along and mesmerizing audiences, making the average moviegoer forget about all previous roles and bypass others, especially when nudity is involved. Richard wowed and surprised audiences when he appeared in the controversial exploitation flick Mandingo (1975). While many panned the film for being problematic in its depiction of blacks and slavery, Mr. Man ignored the noise and enjoyed seeing Richard’s ripe rump as he gets caught in a precarious situation. Too bad Richard didn’t embrace nudity during his all-too short career. A heart attack got in the way of ever seeing Richard in the buff, but we always have Mandingo!
