One of the "action epics" from the waning days of Cannon Films, Sinbad of the Seven Seas (1989) was a last ditch attempt by Golan and Globus to recapture the magic of their early 80s fantasy flicks like Hercules (1983), even going so far as to cast that film's star, Lou Ferrigno, in the title role. The buff beefcake goes up against the evil Jaffar (John Steiner), who has acquired four of the five mystical stones that will allow him to rule the ancient city of Basra. It's up to Sinbad to get that fifth stone before Jaffar, in a race against time that takes more than a few cues from Raiders of the Lost Ark. At least Lou Ferrigno provides plenty of eye candy, here in peak physical condition with his oily musculature doing all the heavy lifting... literally! Who's bad? Sinbad!
