Smash Palace (1982)

The New Zealand drama Smash Palace (1981) revolves around the titular location, a car wrecking yard, where former race car driver Al Shaw (Bruno Lawrence) dwells with his dreadfully unhappy wife Jacqui (Anna Jemison) and daughter Georgie (Greer Robson). To cure her unhappiness, Jacqui begins banging her hubby’s best friend, local police officer Ray Foley (Keith Aberdein). When Al discovers that his wife’s cheating ways, he nabs Georgie and heads for the hills. His law-breaking attempt at holding on to his family is soon foiled when the police catch up with after he tries to rob a pharmacy.
