A Tony-nominated stage actor, this Cincinnati native made his film debut in the 1985 dramedy Heaven Help Us, about the students and teachers at an all-boys Catholic school in Brooklyn. That same year he would play the most notable role of his career, “Evil Ed” Thompson in the fantasy horror film Fright Night. “Evil Ed” is the movie geek best friend of Charley (William Ragsdale), who discovers his next door neighbor is a vampire. He tries to help Charley until he himself is turned unto a vampire, which is bad luck for Charley but great for us, because that leads to a bare-naked Stephen laying on the floor after being staked with a table leg. Fun fact! Stephen is an avid bodybuilder and it shows. He had two notable roles in 1988 - Roach in The Chair and Hoax in 976-EVIL, the latter he turned down returning as Evil Ed in Fright Night 2 in order to do. Stephen’s career took a startling and sexy turn in 1993 when he began starring in a slew of gay porn films under the name Sam Ritter (and once as Stephen Bourdeaux). That’s hardcore! But in 2007, Stephen returned to his horror roots in films such as Sick Girl (2007), Do Not Disturb, originally title New Terminal Hotel (2010), Bite Marks (2011), and The Day Of The Living Dead (2014). Though he hasn’t appeared on screen since 2017’s The Emerging Past, there’s always the chance Stephen’s buff bod will make another comeback!
