Review

A Hollywood executive participates in the tumultuous creation of the Writers Guild of America in The Last Tycoon (1976). It’s the golden age of Hollywood, and Monroe Stahr (Robert De Niro) is at the peak of his game editing several films at once, placating actors and directors, and acting as a figurehead in corporate battles. When he meets the already-engaged Kathleen Moore (Ingrid Boulting), he develops an immediate attraction to her. But a new organization called the Writers Guild is shaking things up, and it seems like the old way of doing things in Hollywood is changing.

This movie is rated PG for Ingrid Boulting's pokers and glutes, but if you’re looking some young De Niro nakedness, no dice -- the only action is we get is waist-up. Would have been nice to have seen a little more of the golden age of De Niro!
