The Peripheral (2022)

Based on the novel of the same name by William Gibson (Johnny Mnemonic), The Peripheral is an Amazon Prime Original science fiction series that debuted in the fall of 2022. The series centers around Flynne Fisher (Chloe Grace Moretz), a brilliant game designer who is stuck working a job that she hates in order to provide for her deadbeat brother (Jack Reynor) and their disabled mother. Her luck seems to change when one of her brother's friends enlists her help in developing a new tech that promises to take gaming to the next level, but after using the tech just once, Flynne's mind is awakened to a scary alternate dimension that sees her living a completely different life. Now aware of the possibilities of this futuristic tech, she must decide if she's going to use it for good or for the more nefarious purposes for which it was designed. While not the sexiest series we've come across in 2022, we definitely think you should check this out for the chance to ogle Irish hunk Jack Reynor without his shirt on! Now that's some tech we wouldn't mind beta testing!
