The Specialist (1994)

When flammable blonde Sharon Stone co-stars with the human blasting cap that is Sylvester Stallone, pop goes the sexual thermometer in The Specialist (1994), not to be confused with The Specialist (1975) starring Adam West. Producers were counting on these Hollywood bombshells to generate fireworks on screen and at the spank bank. But while this pic was a box office hit, it was a miss with the critics — Stone and Stallone were named Worst Screen Couple at the Golden Raspberry Awards. Sharon also picked up Worst Actress for her portrayal of May Munro, a grown-up little girl who witnessed her family being assassinated by a crew of Cuban contract killers as a child. As an adult, the ruthless beauty employs master killer Captain Ray Quick (Stallone) to help her seek revenge. Complications arise, tensions are sexualized, and Stallone is blown to smithereens by lip-smacking Stone. Before the two reach the climax of their mission, we encounter Colonel Ned Trent (James Woods), Joe Leon (Rod Steiger) and Tomas Leon (Eric Roberts). Loosely based on the novels by John Shirley, this R-rated action thriller elicits extra thrills as Sly works out sans shirt, letting his muscles rip. If that’s not arousing enough, the built babe steams up the screen when Sharon scrubs his washboard abs and muscular ass in the shower. Seriously, you may need a towel. No wonder the flick features the song “Turn the Beat Around” by Gloria Estefan. Sly turns us on so we’ve got to beat around our manbush!
