Thirteen (2003)

When aspiring actress Nikki Reed was just a teen, she co-wrote a script with production designer Catherine Hardwicke who directed the screen adaption Thirteen (2003). Not to be confused with the British TV series Thirteen (2016), this R-rated pic is set in Los Angeles where kids grow up fast. The indie flick follows Tracy Freeland (Evan Rachel Wood), a good girl who goes bad after becoming friends with the cool crowd at school. These young hussies do drugs, boys, crime, and self-harm thanks to their bratty leader Evie Zamora (Reed). Fortunately, the drama also includes an adult storyline. Tracy’s single mom Melanie (Holly Hunter) is a recovering alcoholic who tries to appeal to her ex-husband Travis (D. W. Moffett) to get their daughter back on the right track. But it doesn’t help that her boyfriend Brady (Jeremy Sisto) is an ex-addict. Ironically, we’re addicted to Sisto — at least when the skintastic actor flashes his flesh on screen. While strutting his stuff in boxer shorts, Jeremy parades his perfect pecs. If that’s not arousing enough, he also shows off his butt cleavage at the 25-minute mark. Now, that’s the kind of crack we’d love to snort! Although Ms. Hunter and Ms. Wood scored Golden Globe nominations for their roles, there’s a statuette in Mr. Man’s pants for Mr. Sisto! The film also features Vanessa Hudgens in her movie debut as well as Brady Corbet, and Kip Pardue’s sexy chest! Considering this flick’s virile visuals, it’s clear Thirteen is a very lucky number!
