By now youve heard that CBS is entering into the world of superheroes by developing a Supergirl series for primetime television. Comic book fans are puzzled over the networks decision to develop a series around a character thats second or third tier in the world of comics. Yeah, Supergirl is cool, but her monthly titles always seem to fizzle. The volume four incarnation of Supermans cousin, Kara Zor-El, lasted eighty-one issues, her best run to date.
But Mr. Man thinks the boob tube series could be a real hit, especially now that Mehcad Brooks of True Blood (2008)fame has been cast to play none other than nerdy photojournalist Jimmy Olsen. This isnt your fathers Jimmy Olsen, and were fine with that.
Were more than likely not going to see Brooks in the buff on primetime television, but lets hope that Jimmy finds reasons to shuck his shirt on the show. Brooks has one banging body and a set of abs that make him look super, man. Since hes slated to be Supergirls love interest, theres a good chance that well get to see those abs again.
