Review

Not to be mistaken for the Fleetwood Mac album of the same name, Tusk (2014) is a horror flick directed by the hockey jersey-wearing enthusiast Kevin Smith. The odd film follows Wallace Bryton (Justin Long), a fairly unlikable podcaster (aren’t most podcasters unlikeable?) who treks off to Canada to interview a dude who sliced off his leg and posted it to YouTube. But when the much-desired interview doesn’t pan out, Wallace travels through Canada to find a story to ensure his trip up North isn’t a complete waste. When Wallace comes across a handbill, it leads him on adventure that takes him to eccentric storyteller, Howard Howe (Michael Parks). Eventually story time turns into a nightmare when Wallace is drugged, confined to a wheelchair, and Howe’s obsession with walruses spells trouble for the arrogant podcaster. The gore and chills of Tusk are off the chart, but the nudity is but a second thought. Regardless, we get a good look at Michael Park’s buns during this crazy flick. Wish Parks or Long would’ve become rodcasters!
