I am hereby declaring 2023 the year of Paul Mescal because Paul has two hot films that showcase his sexy side. Not only that, but he has been drooled over by audiences around the world and he has even made headlines due to some speculation surrounding his love life. This has been a very good year for Paul Mescal and I hope that 2024 brings us more than we ever thought possible. For now, let's celebrate. 2023: The Year of the Mescal.
First of all, this Irish hunk first drew our attention for starring in the Hulu adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel Normal People. In this limited series, Paul proved that he was much more than a normal person for all of his penis-heavy nudity.
On a critical level, Paul Mescal went above and beyond when he starred in the film Aftersun. My goodness, I loved this film. It absolutely moved me and it proved that Paul Mescal is here to stay. He's one to watch, honey! Thankfully, he makes watching him SO damned easy because he certainly has camera-friendly looks.
In Aftersun - a film about a divorced and depressed young father taking his daughter on their last vacation together - he laid in bed naked with his buns in the air like he just don't care. Well, I do care. I care about that can immensely!
Now let's discuss 2023. He showed his ass when he got busy with his fellow Irish starlet Saoirse Ronan in the film Foe. He was more friend than foe in his numerous butt-baring scenes. From sex scenes with Saoirse to a bathtub scene to lying passed out on his stomach, Paul's peach gets nearly as much camera time as anyone else in the film.
Finally, let's discuss my favorite film of his this year. All of Us Strangers is the one that had me melting! In this trippy drama with a strong gay storyline, Paul falls in love with star Andrew Scott. They have adorable scenes together as well as a spicy sex scene that shows just enough to satisfy (but it does leave us wanting more - a lot more) and they also party together on the dance floor. Don't be a stranger to this gay romance!
So is Paul the hottest man of 2023? Is this really his year? Hold on one second. I do think that there is a strong contender despite the fact that I believe that 2023 belongs firmly to Paul Mescal.
I will say, however, that Jacob Elordi is a close second for the Man of the Year. Elordi is similar in two films that showcase his acting and sensuality chops. He was the object of desire in Saltburn, showing off his body in seriously sexy poses shot in golden-hour lighting that illuminated his delicious skin. He also plays Elvis in Sofia Coppola's latest masterpiece, Priscilla.
