Mamma Mia, here we go again! Director Stephan Elliot has announced that a sequel to the 1994 Oscar-winning Australian film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is in the works and that all three of its stars - Hugo Weaving, Terence Stamp, and Guy Pearce - are on board to return.

Thirty years ago, the original indie film, about two drag queens and a trans woman driving a tour bus named Priscilla across the country to perform at a hotel, was a critical success and introduced the world to two future stars of the big screen.

Already a notable name in cinema, audiences had seen Terence Stamp nude 1968 Italian film Teorema, and were well-acquainted with his villainous portrayal of General Zod in the 1980 sequel to Superman before his surprising turn as trans woman Bernadette Passenger.

But this was the film that first launched the careers of amazing Aussies Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce. Sci-fi and fantasy fans now know Hugo as Agent Smith and Elrond in The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings franchises respectively, but it was his convincing performance as drag queen Anthony "Tick" Belrose/Mitzi Del Bra that first garnered attention. And though he kept his feathered frocks on in Priscilla, we got to see Hugo Weaving nude soon after, with some long-distance underwater dong in Bedrooms and Hallways (1998) and bare booty shots in Strangerland(2015) and Love Me (2021).

Guy Pearce has been steaming up the silver screen ever since showing off his bethonged butt cheeks as Adam Whitely/Felicia Jollygoodfellow in Priscilla, starting with our first real look at Guy Pearce nude when he teased us with his tattooed torso and tush in Christopher Nolan’s Memento (2000). He also brought out his buns in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce(2011), for which he won a well-deserved Emmy.

Perhaps now that they’ve popped those nude cherries we’ll get to see more of what they’ve got Down Under in this sequel!
