The son of first-generation Indian immigrants, Mohamed Akbar Kurtha was born in London and enrolled in drama school after displaying a penchant for impersonating people in his family and on television. He made his screen debut in 1993 in the critically acclaimed film Bhaji on the Beach, and in between stints on stage in London’s West End, Akbar has accumulated over fifty film and TV credits, including titles like My Son the Fanatic (1997), Doctors (2000-2001), Syriana (2005), House of Saddam (2008), Breeders (2020), and he even voices several characters in the popular video game Baldur’s Gate III (2023). In 2024, Akbar landed his most skinful role yet, playing one of a quartet of gay men getting it on with Ruaridh Mollica’s Sebastian in the film of the same name. Sadly, we only see Akbar shirtless but now that he’s arguably broken the seal when it comes to nudity, perhaps things will just get naughtier from here!
