Biography

The late Japanese star Eiji Okada (not to be confused with the Japanese actor/director Eiji Okuda) had an impact on international cinema. Born in 1920, Okada grew up to serve in the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. The multi-talented lad was also a miner and a traveling salesman. But luckily for audiences everywhere, Eiji eventually shared his sexy presence on camera as an actor. In 1949, the dark-haired dude made his movie debut in the foreign-language films Hana no sugao and Onna no Kao. He then romanced Yoshiko Kuga onscreen in the drama Till We Meet Again (1952). Eiji also could be seen in the historic epic Christ in Bronze (1955) and heard narrating the war flick Daitoa senso to kokusai saiban (1959). Yet Okada is best known to critics and cinephiles for his performance in Alain Resnais’s French New Wave classic Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959). In the decades that followed, Okada officially became a global sensation when he appeared alongside some of Hollywood’s most legendary hunks, such as Marlon Brando in The Ugly American (1963) and Robert Mitchum in The Yakuza (1974). Of course, Mr. Man prefers Mr. Okada’s revealing role in Woman in the Dunes (1964). Based on Kōbō Abe’s novel, the Japanese New Wave drama showcases the skintastic actor’s naked T&A when he is bathed by a submissive babe. No wonder the movie was nominated for two Academy Awards! Although Eiji passed away in 1995, he leaves behind countless credits, plus spank bank material for future fans!
