Ewan McGregor and Chris Messina are set to play villains in the upcoming Harley Quinn movie Birds of Prey. It isn't Margot Robbie who is making headlines, however. It's Ewan and Chris for teasing us about their characters, Black Mask and Victor Zsasz, being gay.
The Suicide Squad spin-off has rumors that Black Mask and Victor Zsasz will be portrayed as gay in this movie which isn't necessarily what the original DC comics had in mind (although aren't all superheroes kind of gay? Hey, I can dream!). So the rumors were finally, kind of, quelled when Variety asked the actors about their characters' sexualities. The answer? It's complicated. McGregor answers: "there's a want and a need in there." Messina followed-up by saying they both love anarchy. Huh. What does that mean?

The movie is set to be released this summer, so we'll all have to see. Although, those answers sound like we shouldn't get our hopes up. The good news, however, is that both Messina and McGregor have been very nude in the past. Where they might disappoint us with a lack of gay roles, they more than make up for it with nudity.
Please stop teasing us, boys! Just play gay characters and have sex already! Sheesh.
